is holding a challenging
charity walk/trek in the Mournes on Sunday, 18 April 2010
as part of Hospice Big Walk Week
2010. The walk is between
10-18 km
in length with the choice of
two different routes to cater for individuals with varying walking
experience.

MS Society NI - Ben Nevis Weekend 11 - 13 June 2010

The
perfect team building weekend! Have fun, engage in teamwork and raise
valuable funds for MS Society NI!
Challenge yourself and complete our Ben Nevis challenge. When the weather
is good the views from the top of 'Heaven Mountain' of the Western Isles
of Scotland are truly spectacular. Over the weekend the emphasis will be
very much about fun. Our group will walk the popular Tourist path up and
down the mountain and we expect the walk to take up to 8 hours (5 hours up
and 3 hours down). As the maximum gradient is just 1:5 any reasonably fit
and active person should have no problem making it to the summit and down
again - after the obligatory glass of champagne of course.
£35 deposit and minimum donation of £395 required.

Here’s your opportunity to spend a
beautiful summer’s day walking in a picture postcard landscape.
Following four very successful years, NI Chest Heart & Stroke will be
holding the Causeway Challenge once again on Saturday 22nd May
2010.
For safety reasons the number of walkers cannot exceed 500 and we also ask
that you leave pets at home. Buggies and prams are not allowed on the 11
mile walk.
To participate in the walk all you have
to do is complete a registration form, pay your registration fee and raise
some sponsorship.Join us on the Causeway Challenge trail at Larrybane car
park from 9.30am to 5.00pm on the 22nd May 2010 to join in with some weird
and wonderful fun, and at the same time, do something healthy and
worthwhile for charity.
Mini Causeway Trail
This is a great family fun walk to
entertain all the kids. Only £3 per person or £10 per family of four, come
along, take part in our testing trail quiz, and discover our curious clues
which take you on an extraordinary excursion with stunning views along the
way.The Northern Ireland Chest Heart and Stroke marquee will be having
some activities to entertain all the family.

Give your comments, ideas on Possible Muscular Dystrophy walk
John Gibson and
his brother are trying to put together a event for charity, they
have a nephew who has a child's form of Muscular Dystrophy and they
wish to raise some money for the charity which helps him and his
family.
Last year his brother undertook a walk around a great deal of N.
Ireland ( 350 miles in 17 days in May), raising a very reasonable
sum for a good cause.
The thought was that on the Holiday weekend in May 2010, Whit
bank holiday, Sat. and Sun. doing approx 13/14m per day.1st
day starting at a car park just outside Antrim and going towards
Randlestown and Toome then west to the western shore of the lough
then south until either 13 or 14 miles has been completed, and on
the second day starting at the same car park but this time going
south passed Aldergrove airport and beyond until 13 or 14 miles has
been done.
The main route will be following the National Cycle Network around
the lough as much as possible, there will be some small bits which
will not follow the NCN.
John would be grateful for views on getting this event going, would
clubs be interested in joining for this worthy cause or if you know
of any other rambling/walking clubs that may want to go for a stroll
around what is as everyone knows a lovely part of N.I.
