We are a Walking
Club based in the Mid-Ulster area
and although based in Mid-Ulster our walks are not limited to this
area
. We have quite a few members from other parts of
the province.
- Walks are held every three weeks throughout the
year.
- We have a long walking weekend in spring (early May). Previous
sorties have been to Scotland, Wales, The Lake District,
Co. Kerry and the Isle of Arran.
- In autumn (October) ,we have
another walking weekend. In
the past we have been to Achill , Westport, Donegal ,Wicklow and Galloway.
- Shorter mid-week walks are held
during spring and summer.

Eamonn Flanagan, Ronnie Irvine and David Jewson joined
68 walkers from "Wee Binnians" on their very successful walk on
Sawel and Dart on Sunday 10 August.

UFRC EVENTS 2008
Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st September '08
First
Aid Course,
based in the
Pavilion, Mary Peters Track,
Belfast.
Instructor :-Steven Synnott , a paramedic with a mountain rescue
team and an excellent tutor. Saturday morning will be spent in the
classroom, the remainder of the course is practical and held outdoors.
Course leads to the award of a
Rescue and Emergency
Certificate aimed at hillwalking and outdoor activity.
UFRC will subsidise members by 20%, so
those taking part pay £48 pp.

Congratulations to Samsie Hale who has recently
completed her Mountain Leadership Award. Samsie has proved herself to
be a good walks leader and organizer . Our chairman Eamonn
Flanagan and Samsie were responsible for the organization of our very
successful spring trip to Wales . Eamonn also is in the process
of completing his M.L.A.
Samsie is heading for Thailand in early July as a trip leader with World Challenge organization.
